It’s always an honor when families come back to me for each major life milestone. I first photographed this mom and dad for their wedding, then their maternity session — and now their newborn session. Full circle moments like this are why I love what I do.
This little lady arrived with a bold personality from the start. She kept her eyes wide open for most of the session, which isn’t the most common newborn behavior — but it’s definitely not a problem.
Many newborns naturally drift into deep sleep, but some babies are simply more alert and curious. When that happens, experience matters.
With 16 years of newborn photography training and hands-on practice, I know how to slow the pace, read baby’s cues, and gently adjust posing and flow so everything stays safe and comfortable.
An awake baby doesn’t mean a failed session — it just means we pivot.
Instead of forcing sleep, we focused on:
soothing transitions
gentle cuddling
natural, calm poses
capturing those curious eyes and tiny features
The result is still soft, timeless, and meaningful — just with a little more personality.
If you’re worried your baby might not “behave” during a newborn session, here’s the truth:
🤍 your baby doesn’t need to be “perfect”
🤍 patience and training make all the difference
🤍 beautiful images are always possible
Your baby leads the way — I take care of the rest.
Newborn sessions are best scheduled during pregnancy, but I also welcome families throughout Greene County NY and surrounding areas for in studio newborn sessions.
