Those first days with newborn twins are a beautiful mix of wonder, exhaustion, and learning how to move through life as a family of four. This session came from a newborn model call that filled quickly — but these sweet parents still wanted to document this fleeting season, and I’m so glad they did.
From the moment they arrived at my Hudson Valley studio, it was clear these two had very different personalities already.
If you’ve ever had twins (or photographed them), you know the rule:
one baby is always completely sound asleep…
and the other is very much awake and ready to party.
That pattern held strong during this session. One twin was deeply committed to nap life, while the other wanted no part in missing a single moment. Luckily, patience, slow movements, gentle soothing, and a calm environment go a long way — and eventually, both babies settled into a peaceful rhythm.
As a Hudson Valley newborn photographer, this is where experience truly matters.
Twin newborn sessions are intentionally unhurried. Extra time is built in for feeding, cuddling, and comforting so parents never feel rushed. My studio is warm, quiet, and designed to support a calm experience — especially important when photographing two tiny humans at once.
Years of hands-on newborn safety training allow me to move gently and confidently, helping babies feel secure while parents can simply relax and enjoy the moment.
The way their fingers curl.
The softness of their cheeks.
The way they fit so perfectly in your arms — even when it feels overwhelming right now.
These details change quickly, especially with twins, and photographing them early preserves this chapter exactly as it is.
Newborn sessions — especially twin sessions — are best reserved during pregnancy to guarantee availability. I photograph families throughout the Hudson Valley, Albany County, Greene County, and surrounding areas in my cozy in-studio space.
